How to properly load Faithful PBR (and my other packs)

Updated: Aug 29, 2022

Yo, I'd thought I'd make a tutorial on how to actually load my packs, since some people are having difficulty with it.

So first, ya gotta download one of the resourcepacks; it should be a .zip file. Now that you've done that, you need top place it Minecraft's resourcepack folder. The file needs to placed in this directory:

C:\Users\Your PC's Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks

It should look like this.

If you don't run windows or are having trouble finding that loacation, consider looking at this guide.

My packs also require a shader to run, so make sure you've installed optifine; you'd then need to download and load a compatible shader, to do this, download a shader (you can find a list of some of the compatible shaders here:) And then to install the shaderpack, you need to place it in this directory

C:\Users\Your PC's Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\shaderpacks

It should look like this.

Great! Now the resource pack and the shader should be installed.

Now you need to open up minecraft and enable the shader and resourcepack. At the menu screen, click options, and then resource packs. Then you'll be greeted with a screen that allows you to select the resourcepacks.

Click on the pack you'd like to run, and then press done, simple as that!

To configure the shaders, you need to press Video settings, then shaders, in the options panel.

There, you just press the shader you'd like to use, (I'm using Kappa 4.1 for this guide)

Now you need to press Shader options in order to configure the PBR. The shader options menu will be different for every shader, but here's a basic look at what to enable for Kappa.

First, click Terrain, then Parallax Occlusion Mapping, and then click enable. Press done and then go to the section that says Reflections, and enable Resourcepack reflections.

Now, go back to the shader options, click on Lighting and then indirect lighting; you then need to enable Texture AO and change the Emission mode to Hardcoded + LABPBR.

That should be it for now, so load up a world and see how it looks.

If all goes well, you should be loaded into a world that looks like this.

⚠ Caution about running 1024x and 2048x packs! ⚠

Due to limitations, the 1024 and 2048x packs have been split up into pieces. To load them correctly, you need to load each update on top of the other like so:

However, loading too many of them may crash the game or just not work, so you can at most, probably run 3 of the 2048x packs at once.
